Retro action horror platformer game for PC

Rabbit Knight is a free action from M36games for PC. It is a 2D side-scroller title with a horror theme. It serves as a prequel of sorts to the second chapter of Andy's Apple Farm and will offer more of the same creepy vibe that players have come to know.

Similar to games like Hollow Knight or Shovel Knight, Rabbit Knight features medieval elements, specifically knights. Players will face off against a variety of monsters and abominations. They will also get to discover hidden secrets and mysteries about previous releases and the game series as a whole.

Hare-raising adventure

Rabbit Knight takes place in a world that has been ravaged by a parasitic mushroom plague. Its brave knights stood no chance and have fallen to the deadly fungal enemy, and the once peaceful rabbit inhabitants have now turned rabid. You play as the young rookie knight named Rory, and it's up to you to defeat the shroom menace and save what is left of your home.

You'll be relying on your knight sword for melee attacks and a crescent moon-like projectile weapon to take enemies down from afar. The game offers a surprising amount of enemy variety, with five enemy types to face and defeat. Each one has unique behavior and attack patterns—this gets more complicated and tricky when you fight the final boss at the end of each stage.

What's more, there are various hidden secrets scattered throughout the stages for you to discover to know more about the events behind what happened to the world. There's even an alternate ending that you can unlock if you manage to complete a specific challenge. With all of that being said, though, a typical playthrough is short, lasting around half an hour depending on how you play.

Down the rabbit hole

If you are a fan of action platformers with some horror elements mixed in, Rabbit Knight is a good game worth considering. It offers retro pixel graphics and solid gameplay with surprising enemy variety. All of it is centered around a cute and quirky rabbit knight. There's even an alternate ending that you can unlock, which helps add some replayability to the game.
